Casting Call: "Matilda" on Broadway is seeking their female child star!

Casting Call: A new musical based on Roald Dahl's "Matilda" is coming to Broadway. Auditions for the role of Matilda are being held on Sunday, September 30th at Pearl Studios, located at 519 Eighth Avenue, 12th floor, Studio C. Check-in starts at 10 a.m. They are looking for girls between the ages of 8 and 10, no taller than 4'4." Strong singer, confident speaker, with a good understanding of text and an intelligent approach to acting. No prior experience is necessary. Girls should bring a recent photograph, a short story or poem in the style of Roald Dahl, sheet music for a short song and a resume if you have one. September is more than halfway over... We are all officially back to school, which means "The New Kid," Random Farms' touring school assembly with an anti-bullying message is back on the road!

Disney Princesses... Random Farms Style!

Speaking of montages (in the entry below), I was just designing one for a family whose daughter did an excellent job as the Beast in our Summer Workshop Intensive program. It occurred to me that since I started shooting production photos for Random Farms in 2010, a total of five Disney princesses have graced the stage in more than 20 different casts. Here's a quick look back at some of those shows!

I just got back from a post office run dropping five of the latest custom montages in the mail for parents who had them specially designed to show their child's favorite scenes our recent production of Seussical. Check out this one starring Cast C's Caitlin Witty as the "Cat in the Hat."

To order a custom montage of your child, please email the file names of the photos you'd like included (i.e. SeussicalCastC001.jpg) and the size you'd like (8x10, 11x14, or 12x18) to angela.gaul.jackel@gmail.com.

The Random Farms Kids' Theater is pleased to welcome you to our brand-new blog. We are proud of each and every one of our students, from those who study with us between Broadway shows and national tours to our youngest Jellybeans.

This blog is maintained by Angela Gaul, whom many of you know as our resident production photographer since 2010. She is taking on a new role at Random Farms as our social media and public relations coordinator. We are so pleased to have this new forum where we'll be sharing show highlights, featuring our favorite photos, blogging about our talented staff and most importantly, showcasing your kids!
